samuslims.co.za would like to warn the ummat in general of a very serious deception that is taking place, and that too, coming from the ulama.

this notice is also in response to numerous queries & questions posed by many of you.

1.JAMIATUL ULAMA OF SOUTH AFRICA

This organisation was established in 1970. The website link is on our "usefil linlks" (www.jamiatsa.org.za)
The Jamiatul Ulama of south Africa had properties & bank accounts running under this designation.
The jamiatul Ulama of South Africa defended our ulema in court-such ulema as of the calibre of Moulana Omarjee saheb rahmatullai Alayh.
For the past four decades this jamiat designation-Jamiatul Ulama of south africa-was not used, as the sensitivities of the Jamiatul Ulama Transvaal & Jamiatul Ulama KZN was taken in to account.
This organisation, has on the front page of their website, their constitution.
If you analyse this constituition you will find that it closely resembles jamiat-kzn,majlisul ulama, jamiat gauteng & azaadville madressa & a few other organisations.
More importantly, it closely or rather fits in  with the old jamiat transvaal.

THE JAMIATUL ULAMA BASED IN FORDSBURG, UNDER MOULANA  EBRAHIM IS NOW HIJACKING THIS NAME.
THIER IS NO AALIM  OR ULAMA COUNCIL IN THIS COUNTRY THAT HAS EVER CLAIMED TO REPRESENT OR CAN CLAIM TO REPRESENT OVER A MILLION MUSLIMS.
The use of this name by moulana Bhaam & the Fordsburg based Jamiat is a lie-it is deception & we all need to know this.
This is not something to be taken lightly.
1.On 07.06.2007 the "star" states that Moulana bhaam "was speaking on behalf of 2 million muslims".
2.The weekly Mail & gaurdian in an interview with Moulana Bhaam in 2007 states that the fordsburg based Jamiat is "the countrie's council of muslim theoligians".
3.Another issue of the "Star" refers to moulana Bhaam as "Moulana Ebrahim Bham, the leader of South Africa’s Council of Muslim Theologians said…”

the list goes on.

It is fraud both islamically & by the law of this country. we mention this second point because the jamiat of fordsburg places a lot of emphasis on the law of this country were deen is concerned.
eg. on the question of the sunday times boycott, which a large portion of the south african ummat carrys on with & so does most of our ulama councils, the jamiat based in fordsburg
does not support it. the reason for this boycot is because of the insult to our beloved master salalahu alayhi wa salam. Fordsburg jamiat does not support it on the basis of "freedom of speech is here to stay"
according to moulana ebrahim Bhaam . If They cannot represent their province -gauteng- properly on one issue , how is it possible for them to claim to be the jamiatul ulama of south africa & by that name, claim
to represent the muslims of south africa. And to get that name associated with them they deceive using the media.

The Jamiat KZN supports the above mentioned boycott. So the fordsburg based jamiat does represent them nor their following-which is quite large. The same applies to Mujlisul Ulama.
The MJC does not operate under the auspicies of the Fordsburg Jamiat.

So why this claim? It is the love for fame & authority! Moulana Bhaam & his jamiat wants to be the representatives of all muslims in South Africa with the GOVERNMENT.
And ALLAH knows best in this & all matters.
While he may represent some of you, he most definitely does not represent all of you & us-We felt it our duty to inform you of this deception as soon as we found out about it.
We found out about this during the course of the various researches we do for us & for you. We have taken the responsibility of keeping you informed IF YOU WANT TO BE.
so we ask:"Who gave Moulana Bhaam & his jamiat a mandate to represent all muslims in South Africa?" Our research comes up with this-they are not reprsentative of all of us & so are using the media
to acheive this end.

we have asked the other jamiats for comment & this will be placed on our website in the "library" section. keep an eye out for it.

The real jamiatul ulama of south africa does not claim to represent the ummat of south africa but is rather involved in other deeni projects, such as masaajid, makhtabs, taalim etc..

Why all this fuss & so many Jamiats?
if you are in Durban & you need to calrify something, you will probably go to Jamiat KZN, Madressa inaamiaya,Taalimud Deen etc. chances of you going to Fordsburg is almost nil.
The various ulema councils & smaller ulema bodies represent the muslims of their province, section of province or even town or area.
There exists difference of opinion on minor issues-which does not affect us truely speaking.
There also exists difference of opinion on major issues. WHAT DO WE DO? insha ALLAH we will provide you with a solution to this in the near future.
In the meanwhile we are keeping you informed so that you can make an informed decision as to who you want to follow-you are not forced to follow anyone.
We do speak freely for what we beleive in & stand for, based on RESEARCH. but we do not force anyone to accept what we say!
For our readers abroad-this may not directly affect you unless you have similar issues, but you should keep in mind that we are one ummat & you need to know what is happening here as much as we need to know
what is happening in your countries.

2.JAMIATUL ULAMA GAUTENG

here too we need to calrify what is happening as per our research. the old jamiat transvaal stood for a set of values & were ulama of the highest calibre & piety. their code of life was "quraan & sunnat".
it follows that fordburg jamait should be the follow up to this jamiat-may ALLAH fill their qabrs with noor. this is not the case as the fordsburg jamiat has a different modus operani & method , not to mention agenda.
There is a smaller jamiat called the jamiat of gauteng which has a following nationaly as well-not just in gauteng. This is because of their sincerety & the fact that they are the ones that have followed up
were the old jamiat transvaal left off.And many have opted to follow on this path in gauteng.
we are not saying that the ulema of fordsburg are not sincere-we are saying that thier constitution/practices does not follow up with jamiat transvaal nor keep to the constitution of Jamiatul ulama of South Africa.

WHY TWO JAMIATS IN GAUTENG?
simple answer. one is more liberal & have legalised a lot that is questionable. their website alone shows that what they teach & practice & what is on their files is like two different organisations.
They contradict themselves. Most of our articles are taken from their archives.
The other is staunch on quraan & sunnat in the same way as the old jamiat transvaal. Once again, the fact that they (fordsburg jamiat) do not represent a small jamiat like jamiat gauteng (which by the fadl of ALAH is growing) &
those that follow them nor jamiat kzn which is a bigger jamiat with a larger following nor the jamiat of eastern cape nor the mujlisul ulama that has a large following nothwithstanding the fact that many regard this council as being harsh nor the mjc in
western cape,shows the deception of claiming to represent ALL SOUTH AFRICAN MUSLIMS as being glaring.

PLEASE BEWARE : JAMIAT FORDBURG IS DECEPTIVLY USING THE NAME JAMIATUL ULAMA SOUTH AFRICA & DECEPTIVELY CLAIMING TO REPRESENT ALL MUSLIMS IN SOUTH AFRICA!
